The Art of Marimba Articulation

Adam’s dissertation The Art of Marimba Articulation has been published by ProQuest and is now part of the Percussive Art Society’s Thesis and Dissertation Repository. His research focused on the many misconceptions about marimba articulation and culminated in 166 recordings of various mallets, stroke types, and playing areas. These recordings were analyzed with a 3D Spectrogram and compared according to amplitude, duration, and frequency components. You can read the whole project here.
