What can I say about this crew? Through all the blood, sweat, and tears of a full marching season, they never stopped pushing and played like champions. It's a privilege to work with this group of students, and I would be proud no matter their results. But State Champs does have a nice ring to it 🥇 On to Lonestar Drumline competition on Saturday. Kids are ready to throw down. AIATT!

Yesterday, Hebron Drumline performed at the Thunder in the Hills Drumline Contest and went home with the Silver Medal, Best Bassline caption, and Best Front Ensemble caption. Super impressed by the hard work these kids have been putting in on a very demanding show. It's not always easy, but this group keeps pushing and getting better every week!

Had a wonderful time performing at the National Conference on Percussion Pedagogy yesterday with my favorite person, @nicolet_robbins. Big thanks to @aeldridgeperc for hosting the event at UTA. NCPP is always a great event filled with inspiring presentations, stellar performances, and familiar faces. It will return to UTA again next year if you missed it. Hebron Cluster Percussion Concert is this evening at 6:30pm. Come out and support all the great work going on here. Kids are sounding awesome. Thanks to Tyler Sammons for offering his ears and advice as we prepare for the performance tonight.

Proud of the Hebron Drumline for their performance today at the Lonestar DL competition! 3rd place overall Best Front Ensemble It was great to see so many friends and watch some stellar drumlines today. Congrats to everyone! Next stop Thanksgiving break ... then the Rose Bowl Parade!

Spent some time last week recording @claus.hessler 's reimagining of the Downfall of Paris. Everyone should check out his book Camp Duty Update, which is filled with a boatload of rudimental knowledge and some real wrist twisters! Added some synth parts to the recording just for fun.
